With a track record of exceptional accomplishments, the potential applications of blockchain, which are sprouting with new amazing projects almost every day, have gained global traction. While the potential of this technology is to solve human real-life problems, only a small percentage of the world’s population understands what blockchain is or has access to any of the services it provides.

We can confidently assert that this technology is all-encompassing, with the potential to revolutionize all human endeavors. Its dynamism and performance are expected to continue indefinitely.

In this article, I hope to address the barrier of entry for many into the blockchain space, specifically the promises made for the betterment of everyone, regardless of location, as long as one has undeniable access to power and the internet.

But there is a problem.

Blockchain has sparked the interest of both the public and private sectors for more than a decade. And, while it has been widely adopted in some countries that currently regulate its use cases pertaining to the legal usage of cryptocurrencies, other countries have yet to consider this due to their lack of knowledge of this technology.

We can all agree that every new technology is said to go through an acceptance cycle. Blockchain, as a relatively new technology, is still in its early stages of widespread adoption. As a result, special attention must be paid to the issue of blockchain technology adoption.

Education is the solution.

There is an ongoing global effort for blockchain education, but this rate does not correspond to the reality of the high rising demand for people with a keen interest in learning. Why?

The high cost of fees attached to learning

There is a lot of interest in learning about blockchain technology, especially among students, who have a lot more of it. To back up this claim, Mladen Opacic and Mladen Veinovic from Singidunum University in Belgrade, Serbia, documented and presented some frequently asked questions at the SINTEZA 2020 international scientific conference on information technology and data related research.

Their survey paper revealed some of the reasons why students are interested in blockchain technology. The questions were as follows.

-I am interested in learning more about blockchain technology.

-I am interested in learning more about cryptocurrencies.

-I am interested in learning more about businesses’ application of blockchain technology.

I am interested in learning more about using cryptocurrencies safely.

-I am interested in learning more about the production (mining) of cryptocurrencies.

  • I am interested in learning more about blockchain programming.

All of the questions elicited a wide range of responses indicating a strong desire to learn, but the cost of learning about this technology has become prohibitively expensive, posing a significant barrier in the blockchain space.

Free education is important for newcomers to the blockchain space. It is critical in developing people who are interested in learning about this space and have an understanding of the core aspects of this technology and its numerous use cases, which will trigger the next waves of solutions to human impending challenges.

I’d like to thank the Global Blockchain Institute and its faculty of leading blockchain thinkers and shapers for the unique opportunity to learn from their first-of-its-kind blockchain education, which is designed for both new entrants into the blockchain world and veterans looking to stay current with current development.

In recognition of this effort, their unique blockchain education curriculum is designed to help beginners develop a holistic understanding of the many aspects of the blockchain space while strengthening experienced users’ understanding of the core aspects of the technology. While doing so, veterans in the space will learn to keep up with the most recent developments by delving into the fundamental and technical aspects of each subject of blockchain across a series of carefully curated lessons.

I learned about current use cases and graduated with a strong understanding of blockchain technology. However, guess what? All of these values were given to over 1500 students from various countries around the world for free at the recently concluded GBI Blockchain Academy, Spring 2022.

This is one of the practical examples of how to lower the barrier to entry into the blockchain space by providing free education and solutions.

So, the big news is that anyone can still accelerate their learning experience for free at the GBI Academy.
